Tulip - available!

Hello! My name is Tulip! I used to go by "Chip", but I think Tulip suits me better!🌷I am an 8 month old female Shepherd / Collie cross (that's my best guess!). I'm about 65lbs at the moment, up to date on vaccines, spayed and housetrained! I grew up on a hobby farm, so I'm used to all kinds of sights, smells and sounds. The ducks were so funny, flapping their wings around! I kept trying to play with them, but my love was not reciprocated! That's why I couldn't stay in my original home. So this girl is ready for someone new to love!

I think my new name suits me well, because I need some time before I can bloom! I am a sensitive soul. New environments scare me a little. But when humans show me patience and let me approach them on my own terms, I warm up quickly! Honestly, I adore human cuddles and attention, but I need to feel safe first. That's why I don't think tiny humans would be a good match for me. They tend to make unexpected movements and sounds and I don't know what to think of that! I tend to be a "bolter" when frightened. So my new family has to be very diligent about that during my transition! I need a securely fenced yard. I can be home alone for a few hours when my humans are at work, I am very respectful in the house and don't need one of those cage-thingies!

I love playing and hanging out with other dogs. When I first meet a new dog, I can be a little bit unsure and vocal. But this passes quickly! I would LOVE to have a buddy in my new home, balanced dogs boost my confidence! But I could be your one and only! Maybe you could organize some doggy playdates or pack walks for me! When I'm out on a trail with my buddies, I have pretty good recall, especially when my human brings some treats along! I also enjoy greeting people in relaxed settings, like on trails!

Oh, I should tell you about all the things that make me happy! I love car rides and treats! I also like those meow-ing furry friends. First, they scare me a bit (most things do), but then I'll go sniff them and maybe see if they want to play! If they don't, that's fine with me. I enjoy belly, chest and under the collar rubs. I'll snuggle up to you on the couch once I feel comfortable. I'm really just a very sweet girl who has a lot of love to give! If you have a slower paced household where I can settle in at my own pace AND you like going on adventures with a buddy, please apply to adopt me! TULIP 🌷

Emma - Available!

Emma is a young social butterfly who came from a remote community in Saskatchewan. She looks like she might be a Lab Husky Malamute X. She's about 67lbs and almost a year old. She had a skin infection on her back (which has completely healed up) and her hair is growing back very nicely. Emma will get spayed soon.

Emma is being fostered with other dogs (big and small) and loves playing with them. She would absolutely love to have a doggy-friend in the home, but it is not a requirment. She could go to a home with older kids, as she's quite the sweet lady, although she's not always aware of her size.  A solid fence (at least 6ft, preferably not see-through) is a necessity, as she has shown to be an acrobat when she wants to meet whoever is on the other side of the fence.

Emma's temperament is ALL lab: snuggles, cuddles, food-oriented, eager to please, loves everything and everyone, and she has webbed feet! She may have some prey drive, or very possible she simply wants to play with EVERYTHING (the neighbour's chickens were NOT appreciative of her multiple visits, but all feathers are intact, and no chickens were harmed). She has not been tested with cats, but will most likely need a slow introduction.

If you think you would be a good fit for Emma please fill out an application. This girl is ALL LOVE and wants to find her forever people!

Daisy - Pending adoption!!!

Sweet Daisy came in after she was caught by the dog catcher in Saskatchewan and her owner didn't want to pick her up. Daisy needed an emergency, life saving surgery as she had pyrometra. She has now healed up nicely, traveled to Vancouver Island and is ready for her new home!

Daisy is your typical gentle giant. She's about 75lbs and she looks like a St Bernard X. She loves to be at your feet and follow you around. She is okay living with other dogs, but we think she'd be happiest having all the attention to herself. She deserves it! She is working hard on gaining some weight, but she's not overly food motivated. We think she might've never been fed dog food. Daisy would prefer a quiet household with no young kids running around. She likes her peaceful naps! Daisy is not bothered by cats at all and leaves them alone. She is just a very sweet lovebug!

Please fill out an application if you have a warm loving home with someone around alot to keep this lady company!

"C" litter - available!

These 10 pups came in with their momma Carli (who has already found her forever home!). Mom looks like a Shepherd Husky X. These pups look more like Lab X with wrinkly faces, so who knows what breed mix they are. Let's call thme 100% adorable. These pups were born around the beginning of May (best guess) and get their first vaccines July 2nd! Please fill out an application if you're interested in adopting a med-large sized dog and have the time, energy and patience for a puppy!

1. Cruze (male) - Cruze likes "cruzing" along in life. He enjoys sleeping on your lap when tired and curling up in a puppy puddle after a play session.

2. Cole (male) - Cole is the tank of the litter. He's the biggest and has the strongest character. He can be a little bit of a bully with his siblings. But he makes up for it with his adorable "Eeyore" look, wrinkly face and floof. He almost looks Newfie to us!

3. Cora (female) - Cora is a sweet puppy. She has beautiful eyes and we think they might stay a lighter colour as she matures!

4. Cleo (female) - Cleo is an outgoing puppy. Always running up to her foster humans and ready to play or to get picked up for some lovin'!

5. Cassie (female) - Cassie has the cutest little wrinkles on her face! She can give you the "sad puppy eyes" and melt your heart!

6. Callie (female) - Callie is more of an observer. When her siblings are acting crazy, she will often stroll off to the sideline and keep herself occupies rather than taking part of the chaos.

7. Chico (male) - Chico is a funny little puppy. He sits nicely when he wants attention and loves playing with toys.

8. Cinder - ADOPTED (female) - Cinder is the runt of the litter. She is significantly smaller than her siblings, but she holds her own! She loves snuggle time and playtime!

9. Cain (male) - Cain is your typical puppy, he's mid energy, just a sweet easy going pup!

10. Chance (male) - Chance loves to run around, play wrestle with his friends and does a little happy hop when he sees his foster humans!

"Box of Chocolates" - available

These 3 pups came in without a momma dog, so we don't know what breed mix they are. Maybe some kind of Husky Shepherd cross? We think they'll be medium-large sized dogs when fully grown. They have arrived on the island and we are getting to know them. If you're looking to adopt a medium/large mixed breed puppy and currently have the time and patience for training, please fill out an application.

Nestle (female) - Nestle is a very playful pup who enjoys playing tug of war with her siblings. She likes to chase the water coming out of the hose when watering the plants and we think she'll love playing in the water when given the opportunity. She's a fast learner and has started to learn how to "sit"!

Cadbury (male) - ADOPTED

Hershey (female) - Hershey loves to play with other dogs and people. She would love to have another dog to play with. She's a very curious pup and loves to go check out new things. She loves to lay with you while chewing on a toy. She plays hard, but sleeps harder! She's the first to fall asleep, preferably beside a human!

"Big Box Stores" litter - available

These 7 pups came in with their mom, who is a "spay and return". This means the momma dog goes back to her owner after being spayed. The 7 pups have arrived on the island and we are getting to know them. Mom is a husky, we don't know what kind of dog dad is. We know huskies are absolutely stunning and it's easy to fall in love with them based on their looks, but please do your research on this high energy, vocal, intelligent and independent breed! If you're looking to adopt a medium/large mixed breed puppy, please fill out an application.

Timmie (male) - Timmie is a boy who plays hard and sleeps harder. During these summer days, he loves his siesta's! Timmie has a beautiful fluffy grey and white coat with some black markings.

Wally (male) - Wally is an outgoing puppy. He's always crawling up on people to get some human attention in! He can be a little vocal, so we think he'll grow up to be your typical singing husky!

Hudson (male) - Hudson is more of a free spirit. He can be quite independent, so a secure fenced yard will be extra important for this boy! He has the most stunning heterochromia eyes (one grey/darker, one blue).

Macy (female) - Macy is a sweet girl who likes to play and snuggle. She would make a great companion. She has beautiful facial markings.

Victoria (female) -
Victoria is curious and cuddly. She has the most distinct facial markings and she will be a stunner with a  bright mind when fully grown!

Penney (female) - ADOPTED!!!

Wendy (female) - medical hold

Celia - medical hold

Please consider donating towards Celia's surgery: gofund.me/76010c5b

Celia came in with her puppy Sulley. She is a medium sized young girl (age unknown) who looks like a Shepherd mix. Celia is such a sweet girl. She is shy, but loves to be around people . Celia gets along with cats and other dogs. She is house trained, but doesn't know her commands. We are working on this, she kind of understands "sit" now. She has had her first vaccines and is being spayed June 1st. We are not sure how she is around children as she hasn't been around any in our care, but she has a gentle disposition, so she might be fine with older kids. Celia loves to play but settles quickly afterwards. Celia needs a person or family who will give her time to decompress and get used to her new life and people slowly. Lucky person who gets to adopt this sweetheart!
